A good degree in the field of Business Engineering (Diplom or Bachelor) is precondition for this consecutive Master course of studies. It continues and extends the training obtained in previous engineering logistics courses.
The students are taught extended skills concerning logistics problems and management in international contexts on the basis of the former gained knowledge and experience in the industry.
The students obtain the possibility to learn the newest scientifically proved methods and techniques in their professional field.
The modules of the first three semesters are designed accordingly. They contain the most important profession-oriented questions of different interdisciplinary aspects of logistics. The fourth semester is dedicated to the preparation of the Master Thesis. The problem examined in the Master Thesis should be derived from application-oriented research or planning projects which are situated in the industry in Germany or abroad.
The latest experience shows that a supplementary seminar in project management combined with individual mentoring is needed as support for the students. In such a seminar it will be considered how to solve complex strategic projects in a given industrial context.
The seminar has particular importance for the exchange of ideas and experience among students who now have to reach their goals individually.
The master course of study amounts to 16 modules which are credited with with 6 credit points (ECTS) each. Generally the modules have a duration of 4 hours per week per semester (HWS). This approach facilitates an easy exchange of modules within international cooperations and emphasizes the importance of international education networks which will gain more importance in future.
The total amount of credit points in the Master course of studies is 120.
