Business Administration

Analyzing, investing, making profits - every company strives for this triad of objectives - from Minsk to Miami Beach, from Belgrade to Bremerhaven. Efficient investments are essential for the successful management, and they are the prerequisite of every booming economy. In the study course of Business Administration, knowledge of how to manage a company is imparted.

The study programme provides the students an overview of main issues of business administration and outlines relationships across functions and sectors. The students deal primarily with the question of how to use resources (including information, personnel, materials and financial resources) in a company as effective and efficient as possible. The graduates will be capable to take on important tasks in all managerial areas - whether in traditional companies, in young companies, or in those companies which are still being established. The study course offers broad and practice-oriented knowledge in subjects like management, marketing, business informatics, management accounting, financial management, quality management and environmental management.

Additionally, there are other relevant subjects like mathematics, economics, politics or law and subjects that develop and facilitate key qualifications (methodological, social and self-competences). The “Laboratory of Business Information Systems and Communication Systems” and the “Laboratory of Marketing and Multimedia” as well as the “Laboratory of Standard Software/SAP” and room for audio-visual communication ensure chances for the students to gather experiences in practice and research, and in this way synergy with regional business can be supported.

Intercultural training, language qualifications (business English as compulsory component and business Spanish as an additional optional component) as well as the possibility to have a semester abroad make the study programme even more complete.

With the Bachelor’s degree the graduates are well-prepared for their successful career entry in internationally and globally operating corporations. Anyone who is willing to improve his career prospects after the undergraduate study has the option to continue his study at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven in the Master’s programme Management in Medium-Sized enterprises.
