To gain new knowledge and experience, broaden your mind, make new friends and at the same time just have fun

Perfectly organized study courses and sated cultural programs have left unforgettable impressions. I can say for sure that studying at Bremerhaven International Summer School 2009 gave me a chance to advance my knowledge in management and economics realms. Warm greetings, friendly assistants and hospitality were my first impressions after arrival in Bremerhaven.

I had chosen the change management course. It consisted of management of multicultural team, steering the change process, managing transition to networked enterprise, change management project, essential elements of change, change in intercultural marketing and typical change models. It included lectures, case studies, group work and assignments.

On the first day we attended a lecture on economics of Germany specially organized for fledgling managers from Uzbekistan. Afterwards all participants went on excursion to the Savings Bank Sparkasse Bremerhaven, where leading manager told us about appearance, development, structure of the bank and tasks of each department, various strategies and work tools.

After the opening ceremony we had our first Workshop called Intercultural Simulation game. Students from different countries: Poland, Russia, Turkey, Japan, Columbia, Germany, Uzbekistan were divided into 5 teams. During this workshop we got acquainted with each other and it was a good team building exercise for us.
Cultural program included a trip to Helgoland Island, Hamburg and Bremen. We visited the car factory of “Mercedes-Benz”, “Beck’s” brewery and the chemical marketing company “Helm AG”. The guide tours let me learned the principle of building cars and production of beer.

Spending time at Hochschule Bremerhaven, I’ve not only got theoretical and practical knowledge in management of organizations, but also gained great experience in international communication, learned about different cultures, made many new friends, with whom I’m in touch nowadays.

If you want to gain new knowledge and experience, broaden your mind, make new friends and at the same time just have fun, then Bremerhaven International Summer School is for you.
