In 2009, cruise researchers from the Hochschule Bremerhaven, Perth/Australia, Dubrovnik/Croatia and Plymouth/UK created the Cruise Research Society (CRS). An increasing number of teaching staff, alumni and students of the Cruise Tourism Management programme and its predecessor are actively involved in the CRS. Its purpose is to promote academic and practitioner research in the field of maritime tourism and cruise management.
The CRS organises, endorses and/or sponsors:
- events (conferences, symposia, workshops, etc.)
- research projects
- development of education & training concepts and material
- support of and commitment to the UNWTO’s Code of Ethics
