#CODEBLAU - SAVE WHAT YOU CAN!

Studies

Interactive outdoor rescue game for more appreciation of rescue workers on Friday, 25 August, from 1 p.m. in front of the Waterfront shopping centre in Bremen

SAVE WHAT YOU CAN! Under this motto, students of the Digital Media Production course at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences want to make the working world of rescue workers tangible. In cooperation with the Bremen branch of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), they have designed an immersive and interactive game. On Friday, 25 August, they want to use it in front of the Waterfront shopping centre in Bremen (AG-Weser-Str. 3, to the left of the main entrance) to promote greater sympathy, respect and appreciation for the blue-light forces.

Participants in this outdoor rescue game will enter a 12 x 8 metre and 3 metre high labyrinth and experience the everyday life of rescue workers in action for a few minutes. Accompanied by a rescue worker, the participants meet injured people and patients in the labyrinth, have to perform resuscitations, give injections, apply pressure bandages and take medical histories. But as rescue workers increasingly experience in real life, the participants are also hindered in their work and put under stress by onlookers and mobs: not an easy job, not an easy game.

The project was also implemented with the friendly support of the operating company of the Waterfront shopping centre in Bremen, ECE Marketplaces GmbH & Co. KG, which, in addition to the location and logistical support, is awarding 50 shopping vouchers of 10 EUR each to the first 50 successful participants or participating teams.

SAVE WHAT YOU CAN! is the second campaign that the students are carrying out as part of their #CODEBLAU project. It was preceded on 12 August by the action "The Bremen Town Musicians see blue", which also dealt with the topic of appreciating the work of rescue and emergency forces. Another campaign is being planned for September.
