Keeping an eye on the safety of people and the environment with an additional qualification
Bremerhaven logistics students can train as dangerous goods officers
As soon as a company is involved in the transport of dangerous goods, trained employees as dangerous goods safety advisors must ensure that all safety aspects are observed. In the Bachelor's degree programme in Transport / Logistics (TWL) at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, students can train for this function. Seminars are offered on transport by truck and rail in the summer semester and on inland waterways and seagoing vessels in the winter semester. The additional qualification is recognised by the Bremen Chamber of Commerce - Industrie- und Handelskammer für Bremen und Bremerhaven (IHK). Only the IHK examination is subject to examination fees.
Ensuring the safety of people and the environment when handling hazardous substances is an important part of the course content. For this, hazardous substance properties must be known. It must also be ensured that safety-relevant information is passed on. Anyone who wants to be responsible for these areas in companies must obtain further qualifications and be examined by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The fees charged by further education providers are currently up to 2,000 euros. Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences had itself recognised as a trainer by the Bremen Chamber of Commerce as early as the mid-1990s and has been offering the continuing education programme for its TWL students ever since.
The technical-engineering course of study TWL with the degree "Bachelor of Engineering" has already received many awards and is repeatedly to be found among the top 5 logistics courses of study in Germany. Graduates enjoy a very good reputation on the job market as "logistics all-rounders". An Application is possible either in the winter or summer semester.
