Researchers show new possibilities for the production of biofuels
Final event of the "FLEXI-GREEN FUELS" project on 13 December
A major challenge in phasing out fossil fuels is the production of sustainable biofuels for shipping and aviation. The EU-funded "FLEXI-GREEN FUELS" project has been working on the development of new technologies for this area for around three years. On Wednesday, 13 December, from 9 am to 5:45 pm, the researchers will present their results in the THP building at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1, Bremerhaven). Participation is free of charge for all interested parties. Please register at https://terminplaner4.dfn.de/F8VTYyaQkCKgxhNH.
The aim of the "FLEXI-GREEN FUELS" project is to advance the production of the next generation of biofuels for aviation and shipping. The new technologies should be economical, must not compete with food production and should have a lower environmental impact and lower greenhouse gas emissions than current renewable energy technologies. To this end, technical and economic studies and life cycle analyses were carried out to compare the new biofuels with conventional aviation and marine fuels and to quantify their performance characteristics.
