Publishing your results is the currency in modern science. It might not be the dearest occupation to you, but it is a decisive one and might well play an important role in what your future research opportunities are.

A-Z of scientific writing

  • Strong message
  • Story arc
  • Figures that tell the story
  • Scientific writing style
  • Step by step writing process
  • Daily writing routine
  • Collaborating on papers
  • Submission and referee process

Working on your text

In this course we will write a test paper with your real data, going through the whole writing process. If you want, you can finish this paper after this course has ended. So, you effectively use the time here for real paper writing.
There are different exercises throughout the course, for you to apply the learned material to your own writing. Please bring your scientific texts to the seminar (Bachelor, Master thesis, as well as any published or upcoming papers).

Please note

If you are currently writing a paper, bring this paper to the workshop. If you are not writing a paper, identify results (either from your PhD or your master thesis), that you could use for the exercises and write a test paper about.
