Selection and Admission

Availability of places on the CTM programme is limited, and competition for these places is quite intense. We typically receive some over 300 applications per year, but we can only admit 40 new students. This ensures that every student can get the necessary attention and support.

The selection of CTM students is based only on school marks. This means that the applicants with the best overall marks of their school-leaving certificates will be offered a place. If you aren't sure if your marks are good enough, just give it a try and apply. We welcome every application from motivated candidates.

We try to be really quick. Between late July and early August, successful applicants will receive a letter with the offer of a place on the CTM programme. The letter explains the procedure for accepting or declining that place and sets the deadlines.

Candidates accepting the offered place are required to personally enrol for the CTM programme during a defined period before the beginning of the winter semester. Typically, the enrolment period ends in the last week of September.

Getting started

The first week of the winter semester is our intoduction week. The introduction week is packed with activities aimed at familiarising our new students with each other, with older students, their professors, the university and the city of Bremerhaven. We go sightseeing with them, send them on a campus rallye, visit a cruise ship together (if one happens to be in town...) and test their dancing skills during the semester opening party. By the end of the induction week they'll know all they need to get started as students.
