Bremerhaven launches charm offensive as a science HOME town
BIS Wirtschaftsförderung Bremerhaven campaign showcases research landscape
"Deine WissenschaftsHEIMATstadt" - this is the motto of the new Bremerhaven social media campaign, which was developed on behalf of BIS Wirtschaftsförderung Bremerhaven and in cooperation with the Department of Economics, Tourism and Science. The aim is to raise awareness beyond the state's borders that some of Germany's most important research organisations are based at the mouth of the Weser. The concept and realisation were in the hands of Tim David Müller-Zitzke and Dennis Vogt, graduates of the Digital Media Production course at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. The campaign can be found at www.unglaublich.bremerhaven.de/wissenschaft.
"Since its foundation in 1975, Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has not only stood for practice-orientated studies, but has also been a driving force for the development of the seaside city. We support regional companies with our scientific expertise in the search for innovative and sustainable solutions to current and future challenges. As highly qualified specialists, our graduates ensure that the economy in the region remains future-proof and competitive. I am delighted that the university is part of the BIS Wirtschaftsförderung Bremerhaven campaign and would like to thank Prof Dr Uwe Werner for providing a brief insight into his field of work," says Prof Dr Dr Alexis Papathanassis, Rector of Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences.
Specifically, the eleven videos in the campaign deal with the future of German shrimp fishing, synthetically produced green methanol, hydrogen in various areas of application, clear visibility in murky waters for sea rescue, modelling of climate dynamics and other socially or economically relevant topics that are being worked on in Bremerhaven.
The campaign will be played out via the channels of @bis_bremerhaven & @unglaublich.bremerhaven as well as the channels of the institutes and the city of Bremerhaven on both Instagram and LinkedIn over the next few days.
