Prize goes to a Bremerhaven company for the first time

Bremerhaven students Dustin Klepper and Pascal Nobereit want to make municipalities and companies more digital with the help of artificial intelligence with their start-up ‘neuraflow’. They have now received the Powerhouse Nord regional alliance's innovation award for their endeavours. The award recognises outstanding players who contribute to the strengthening and future viability of their city or district and therefore the Ems-Elbe region through their creative approaches. The award was presented at a meeting in the mayor's office on Monday afternoon.

‘Founded during their studies, the company neuraflow has specialised in the development of AI solutions and offers innovative chatbots throughout Germany. neuraflow has developed from a student start-up into a promising service provider offering intelligent and customised solutions, primarily for public authorities and administrations, in a very short space of time,‘ said Neuhoff, speaking on behalf of the Lord Mayor, in recognition of the award winners’ commitment. ‘This is extraordinary, and the young, courageous founders have more than earned this award,’ said the mayor, who was delighted to be able to present this award to a company from Bremerhaven for the first time.

One outstanding example of the company's success is the chatbot ‘Hein Mück’, which was developed for the city of Bremerhaven. This AI-supported chatbot supports citizens with bureaucratic enquiries and makes municipal services more accessible and efficient thanks to its North German charm.

The Powerhouse Nord regional alliance aims to strengthen the Ems-Elbe region as a key region for the energy transition. Supporting the players already active here is a top priority. The new ‘Motor of the North’ prize, which will be awarded annually in future to a company, business, network, association, municipality or similar in every district and independent city in the Powerhouse region including Bremen and Bremerhaven, is aimed at them.

‘With the ‘Motor of the North’ award, we want to recognise those who have contributed to the strengthening and future viability of their city or district and thus our Ems-Elbe region as a whole through their creative approaches,’ explained Olaf Reichert, Head of the Powerhouse Nord office.

The business development agency BIS has joined the Powerhouse Nord alliance as a supporter. Nils Schnorrenberger, Managing Director of BIS Bremerhavener Gesellschaft für Investitionsförderung und Stadtentwicklung mbH, is convinced that we can only succeed in moving the region forward if we work together. ‘In order to successfully master the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, we need to utilise the ideal conditions in our region. With available commercial space, highly qualified specialists and excellent science and research, we are ideally positioned to tackle the energy transition and other forward-looking issues. However, this can only succeed if we work together. Our region must think bigger, join forces and act together,’ says Schnorrenberger.
