First graduate of the part-time Offshore Wind Energy MBA
Joint degree training for specialists
If you work in the offshore wind industry and would like to expand your management skills, you can do so as part of a further education programme. Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has developed the Offshore Wind Energy MBA in co-operation with the Business Academy South West in Esbjerg. The first graduate has now graduated from the Danish university.
The Offshore Wind Energy MBA was developed with the aim of increasing the level of knowledge and expertise of both companies and employees. More than 70 professionals from the wind industry have registered for the first module. After nine courses and a final thesis, Senior Manager Shravan Kumar, Business Development at Stiesdal Hydrogen, is the first graduate to be delighted with his degree. He praises the degree programme: ‘We worked with relevant cases and were able to consult with experts who can only be found in the industry. So much knowledge about wind is concentrated in this part of Denmark. I have gained an excellent network of like-minded people and managers from the entire value chain with whom I can exchange ideas,’ says Shravan Kumar.
Individual courses from the study programme were already offered as continuing education courses in 2019. In 2021, the programme was accredited as a Joint Degree MBA. This is the name given to a degree programme that is jointly developed and delivered by several universities. The concept is based on innovative teaching methods and a mix of self-study and practical face-to-face workshops.
