Universities in Bremen Seek Student Housing

University

The universities in the state of Bremen are jointly looking for rooms for students and doctoral candidates, especially those from abroad.

Anyone who can offer accommodation in Bremerhaven should contact the International Office by email. There is an online form for offers in Bremen.

The universities in the state of Bremen are once again expecting numerous international students and doctoral candidates for the winter semester. As the housing situation in Bremen and Bremerhaven remains tense, the educational institutions are asking the residents of Bremen and Bremerhaven for their support. Anyone who can rent out a room or flat for one to two semesters or longer is asked to get in touch. As most people arrive in September and October, it is advisable to get in touch as soon as possible.

Offers for Bremerhaven can be sent to the email address internationals@hs-bremerhaven.de. Anyone interested in offering accommodation in Bremen can fill out the following form: www.uni-bremen.de/wohnraum

The following information is requested in the form or should be provided in the email:
•           Availability (period from when to when)
•           Type of offer (room/flat, size)
•           Costs (including heating) and additional costs included
•           Location (address and district)
•           Furnished (preferred) or unfurnished

The International Offices of the University of Bremen and Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences will then put interested students in touch with landlords and assist with the placement process. All other matters, such as the rental agreement, key handover, payments and communication, are handled directly between the landlords and tenants.
