Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has once again received a top rating in the university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE). The study conditions and practical relevance are just as impressive as the support provided at the beginning of the degree programme. Students on the Biotechnology of Marine Resources, Engineering, Food Technology/Food Business (also dual practice-integrated), Medical Technology and Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies degree programmes were surveyed. The ranking includes assessments by students as well as facts on study programmes, teaching and research. With around 120,000 students surveyed, it has been the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world for twenty years. The application phase is currently underway for the winter semester 2025/26, when the degree programmes Food Technology/Food Business (also practice-integrated dual), Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies and Transport/Logistics will be accepting new students for the first time under the names Food Science (also practice-integrated dual), Sustainable Process Engineering and Transport, Business, Logistics. Two specialisations of the Engineering degree programme will start in the winter semester with new names and content.

Applications for all open-admission degree programmes are made via the university's own application portal ecampus.hs-bremerhaven.de. The application deadline is 15 August 2025. Applications for the admission-restricted Bachelor's degree programmes in Digital Media Production, Physician Assistant and Social Work can only be submitted via the portal www.hochschulstart.de by 15 July 2025.
