Interested persons invited to free lectures on 13 March

Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and ATM Qness GmbH invite to lecture theatre T001 at the university (Building T, An der Karlstadt 8) on Thursday, 13 March at 9:30 am. At this year's ‘Innovation Day’, they will take participants on a journey into the world of materialography and hardness testing. Anyone interested in materials science and microstructure analysis is welcome to attend. Registration is open until 28 February at www.qatm.de/de/aktuelles/veranstaltungen/innovation-day.

Presentations on analysing the microstructure of batteries for electromobility and the use of artificial intelligence in hardness testing are on the morning programme. In the afternoon, participants will be able to look over the shoulders of the experts during preparations and ask questions.

Materials science is one of the specialisms at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. Bettina Camin teaches on the engineering degree programme and is researching vacancies in materials that lead to defects in the DFG-funded project ‘Kirkendall porosity in diffusion pairs’. She was instrumental in bringing the ‘Innovation Day’ to Bremerhaven. "QATM is a manufacturer of laboratory equipment for materials testing and is very well established in the specialist world. I am delighted that they have decided to organise their “Innovation Day” together with us at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. The state of Bremen has a very strong materials science presence in Germany. The event is a great opportunity to make this visible for Bremerhaven as a location," says the professor.
