Digital marketing as a student project

A new practical project has been launched in the business administration degree programme at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. 32 students are advising the Bremerhaven fire brigade and the city fire brigade association on digital marketing. They are being coached by Prof Dr Birte Kemmerling and Prof Dr Barbara Kleine-Kalmer. The presentation of the results will take place in July.

The fourth semester students are working on a total of seven topics. In each case, this involves both the development of a marketing strategy and its digital implementation. Examples include strategies for the website and Instagram as well as a communication strategy on the topic of prevention. "The project runs under the motto “We in the public sector support each other”. We are delighted to be intensifying the collaboration between the university and the fire service. This is a great opportunity for our students to work independently and in consultation with their client on a strategy and present them with proposals for implementation," says Prof Dr Birte Kemmerling. During the project work, she and Prof Dr Barbara Kleine-Kalmer from the ‘Marketing hoch zwei Institut’ (M2I) at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences will be on hand to advise the students as coaches.
