International Students

Local Erasmus Initiative LEI Bremerhaven

The LEI team consists of motivated students who help the exchange students to settle in at the university and to adapt to the new environment. For this purpose, various events and excursions are organized. These are not only aimed at exchange students, but also at local students, and thus promote intercultural contact and exchange at our university.

STIBET I Combined scholarship and mentoring program

STIBET I is a program to support international students at German universities. It is offered annually by the DAAD and funded by the Federal Foreign Office.

The STIBET I program enables us to offer more support for international students and promote their stay at our university. This includes, for example, events, excursions and projects that promote intercultural exchange and create an intercultural campus where all our students feel at home. In addition, scholarships are regularly awarded as part of the STIBET I program.

Financing options for international degree-students

Support options in financial emergencies
Financial emergencies are a major challenge, especially for international students. In the state of Bremen, there are various ways for international degree-time students to bridge such a situation.

Scholarships
In addition to intercultural events, scholarships for international students are also an important part of the STIBET I program. We can award graduation scholarships for students with outstanding academic achievements, scholarships for special social commitment, scholarship for equal opportunities and contact scholarships for incoming students from our partner universities.

In addition, international students can also apply for a so-called “scholarship for needy students from developing countries” in the final phase of their first degree.
