The bachelor's degree programme comprises six semesters. The first two semesters are mainly devoted to teaching the fundamentals, with mathematics – along with physics, engineering mechanics and business administration – taking up a large part of the programme. In the following three semesters, more specialised knowledge is dealt with in more detail, and in the last semester there is the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge in professional practice phases or in practice-based projects. The modules generally comprise four student workload hours per week (SWL/week). In total, there are 31 modules with a scope of mostly 5 credit points (CP) per module and 30 CPs per semester. In total, 180 CP are awarded for the bachelor's programme. Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences enables graduates of the programme to join the master's programme Logistics Engineering and Management after completing the bachelor's programme.

The curriculum is designed to be very broad, interdisciplinary and application-based in order to provide students with a generalist logistics education. This qualifies them to deal with all forms of logistics issues and enables them to become competent contact persons for any specialised disciplines of practical logistics.
International factors play a major role in responding to questions of logistics. Students are therefore encouraged to engage in international knowledge exchange during their studies, for example in the scope of a semester abroad, which is facilitated by the university's cooperation network. The Transportation Logistics programme cooperates with special partner universities all over Europe. You can find a list of these on the pages of the International Office. There is also an extensive network of contacts and national partnerships with over 30 companies, institutions and research organisations. These links provide the opportunity to keep pace with developments in workplace practice and transfer them to the teaching programme. These cooperating institutions come from sectors such as software solutions, transport route planning, tracking and tracing, data systems in the transport industry, compliance in logistics and cloud computing.
Admission and application
Admission to the TWL bachelor's degree programme requires a general higher education entrance qualification, an entrance qualification for studies at universities of applied sciences or an educational background recognised as equivalent. Successful completion of the programme requires adequate knowledge of German. Foreign applicants must satisfy the admission requirements with verified German language skills (TestDaF or DSH) as per the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) guidelines. English language skills must be equivalent to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. We recommend that applicants without subject-related education or training complete an internship before starting the study programme. To ensure an optimal start to the programme, we recommend completing the “Mathematics for first-year students” preparatory course offered by the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences.
The Transportation Logistics (Transportwesen / Logistik) study programme accepts students every semester. The application deadline for the winter semester is 15 July, while the deadline for the summer semester is 15 February. Please apply online through our ecampus application portal where you can upload all the necessary documents.
The Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is a member of UNI-ASSIST (Application Services for International Students). Prospective students who have gained their university entrance qualification outside the European Union (EU) can therefore submit their application directly to UNI-ASSIST. To ensure adequate processing time, the application for the winter semester should be submitted to UNI-ASSIST by 30 June for the winter semester and 31 December for the summer semester. Following a successful review, this is forwarded on to the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. UNI-ASSIST charges applicants a fee to process the application.
