I particularly like the family atmosphere at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. Actually, I never wanted to study because colleges and universities are too big for me and you hardly know your fellow students. That is completely different at this university. A manageable campus and a family-like atmosphere characterize the picture here.
The social work program is characterized by a high proportion of practical experience, which is very helpful in getting a feel for the broad field of social work and what your work might be like later on. The dovetailing of theory and practice is also personally challenging, because you are constantly challenged to question yourself as well as the professionals in your everyday work and to develop a professional attitude. This can also be very valuable away from the university.
A particular highlight for me are the transactional analysis seminars, in which self-reflection is given a very high priority and the interaction in the small group can become very intense. What we learn there will be invaluable for our later work.
