There are many motives for a study-related stay abroad:
- You broaden your professional and personal horizons,
- increase language and intercultural skills,
- demonstrate flexibility and independence
- get to know new learning and teaching methods and
- gain insight into other corporate structures.
A semester abroad is already compulsory in some degree programs, but a stay abroad can also be usefully integrated into the studies of all other degree programs.
As it has been shown that the success of a stay abroad is strongly related to good and timely preparation, our staff in the International Office will be happy to advise you on the various possibilities.
International Seminars
Our international seminars give you the opportunity to get a taste of studying abroad for about a week.
You will have the opportunity to get to know the partner university and the study location better through lectures, workshops and excursions. In addition, you can improve your language skills and acquire intercultural competencies. The international seminars are designed to be interdisciplinary and are open to students of all degree programs.

Local Erasmus Initiative LEI Bremerhaven
The LEI team consists of motivated students who help the exchange students to settle in at the university and to adapt to the new environment. For this purpose, various events and excursions are organized. These are not only aimed at exchange students, but also at local students, and thus promote intercultural contact and exchange at our university.
