Hi, I’m Skai and I’ve been passionately studying Marine Resource Biotechnology (BMR) since the 2024/2025 winter semester. If you’d like to know what it’s like to study BMR or have any general questions about Bremerhaven or the course, I’d love to hear from you.
More about me
After finishing school, I wasn’t initially sure exactly what I wanted to study; I just knew it would be in the STEM field, and probably in the biological sciences. However, the Walk & Talk event convinced me to study BMR. What particularly appealed to me about BMR is the combination of biotechnology and marine biology, which gives you direct insight into one of the specialisation areas within biotechnology. What I like best is all the practical work in the lab, which offers a nice change from the lectures. In the programme, we spend a lot of time looking at how (micro-)organisms work and how we can make use of them.
