Apply - but how? Step by step to a successful bachelor's application (university entrance qualification obtained in the EU) 

1. Only admission restricted programmes: Registration at www.hochschulstart.de : here you will receive a BID and BAN number after registration, which you can use for further registration and application on our ecampus portal. In addition, after a successful application, the acceptance of the study place is done via this portal. Please note (only admission restricted programmes only): PLEASE OBSERVE THE PRIORIZATION OF YOUR APPLICATIONS ON HOCHSCHULSTART.DE! Changes/adjustments can be made up until the application deadline on July 15. If you do not actively do this yourself, hochschulstart.de will prioritize it itself! Here you will find a video tutorial on the subject.

2. For all other programmes: Registration and application via our ecampus application portal :  https://ecampus.hs-bremerhaven.de/ and confirm your registration by click on the link in the welcome email.  

3. Upload documents: You can now upload your documents to ecampus, as well as (if necessary or available) cases of hardship, compensation for disadvantages, etc. apply for. Have your university entrance qualification etc. ready as a digital PDF. After you have answered all the questions, confirm the submission of your application.     

4. Status notifications: You will receive status notifications by e-mail as soon as your status changes. For example, if you receive the status message "Temporarily excluded", please check whether you have uploaded all documents.

5. Admission offer/acceptance: 
a) Non-admission restricted programmes: via our ecampus portal. 
b) Admission restricted programmes: an admission offer will be issued via www.hochschulstart.de 

6. Acceptance of admission offer:
a) Non-admission restricted programmes: go to your account on ecampus, select study applications under the "Courses offered" tab and, in the case of multiple applications or admission offers, select the appropriate one. Here you will now be guided through further pages.
b) Admission restricted programmes: inital acceptance via www.hochschulstart.de then go to your ecampus account - please observe the particular enrolment deadline!

7.  Inital online enrolment via ecampus: when you accept the offer on ecampus you will be lead through pages where existing and additional info will be inquired - upon completion please log-out and in again and check the latest status e-mail, this will lead you to a page with an info box incl. infos on the semester fee (amount and account details) - under this box you will find the button "request for enrollment" - please download  and print this form.
a. Submit this form, signed by you , together with the above-mentioned documents by post. Please note the registration deadline!
b. Also transfer the semester fee. Please observe the enrolment deadline here as well! 

7. Enrollment: After receiving your documents and the semester fee, the semester documents (enrollment certificate, semester ticket) will be generated and made available on your ecmpus account.  A separate confirmation of receipt will not be sent. Please also observe the "Anschreiben nach Immatrikulation" which you can donwload there and will contain info on how to activate your digital access to all our systems.

IMPORTANT:

• Please send requests for changes or corrections and inquiries to bewerbung@hs-bremerhaven.de
• Please log into your Hochschulstart.de and ecampus account regularly to find out about status changes and the like!

Upon completion of your online enrolment please submit the "request for enrolment" form together with the required documents via postal service, if you are in Germany - otherwise this can also be done via e-mail. The following documents must be submitted at the latest by the enrolment deadline:

• University entrance qualification or school leaving certificate (regular copy is sufficient)
• Personally signed curriculum vitae, photograph
• Copy of birth certificate or identity card/passport
• Proof of health insurance: Please contact your health insurance company - the sooner the better! Your health insurance company will then send the required notification to us. Please quote our sender number H0000733 for this purpose. If you are privately insured, please contact any statutory health insurance company - they will then notify us of the existence of private insurance. Please quote our sender number H0000733 for this as well.
• Clearance certificate (when changing universities or resuming studies)
• De-registration certificates from all previous universities (when changing universities or resuming studies) 
• Proof of sufficient knowledge of German (applicants from abroad)
• Proof of  sufficient knowledge of English  (depending on the course)

Application deadline winter semester

July 15th  via Hochschulstart for Bachelor's degree programmes with restricted admission 

July 15th for applicants with a higher education entrance qualification that was not obtained in the EU via uni-assist.de - except for applications to the PEET master's programme, which is June 30th!

August 15th via ecampus for Bachelor's degree programmes without admission restrictions and if your are non-EU graduate and already have a valid uni-assist report

Application deadline summer semester

December 31st for PEET and ESD applicants with a bachelor's degree not obtained in the EU - via uni-assist.de

January 15th for non-EU bachelor graduates to all other programmes except PEET and ESD - via uni-assist.de

February 15th for EU graduates and uni-assist report holders via ecampus for admission-free Bachelor's degree programmes and master programmes

1a. For admission restricted programmes (winter term only!!: First you need to register with hochschulstart.de - here you will receive a BID and BAN number - with which you either register on www.uni-assist.de or, if you already have a uni-assist report, go to our ecampus.hs-bremerhaven.de portal directly and register here using said BID and BAN number. 

• IMPORTANT NOTICE: please mind the priority settings at hochschulstart.de: if you receive an admission from a higher prioritized university the lower prioritized application will be deleted automatically and cannot be re-done!

•  Upon approval by uni-assist your documents will be forwarded to our ecampus.hs-bremerhaven.de portal

The language requirements in the courses at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences primarily include English language skills. The individual courses make different demands on future students. Therefore, please also note the information on the pages for the degree programs.

In the Master's degree programs, the language requirements are regulated in the admission regulations.

Language requirements for foreign applicants
Applicants who did not acquire their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution need proof of German language skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. As a rule, this proof is provided by the German language test for university admission (DSH-2) or Test German as a Foreign Language (TestDaF) with 16 points. 

The responsible faculty council can lower the levels by resolution. This decision has only been made for the International Tourism Management (ITM) course. German language skills at level A 1 are sufficient for this course.
For all other courses, the language regulations apply without restriction. The faculty council does not examine individual cases. A decision is always made at the level of the course.
The languages certificates have to be submitted latest by the enrolment deadline except for the Enlish C1 for ITM for which you have time until the end of the first semester.
