Smart Mobility Institute presents study on climate impact of refrigerated transports Online seminar on 20.07.2023

The continuous increase in freight transport with the use of medium and heavy commercial vehicles has led to a sharp rise in CO2 emissions in the German transport sector. The continuously growing demand for fresh and frozen products and the associated temperature-controlled transports and their refrigeration units contribute to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from freight transport. The savings potential for CO2 in this transport segment alone amounts to more than seven million tonnes.

Focus on decarbonisation

What is the significance of decarbonising refrigerated and frozen transport for the climate protection goals of the Federal Government and what measures can be taken here to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)? These and other questions are illuminated by a study conducted on behalf of NOW GmbH - National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology by the Smart Mobility Institute under the direction of university professors Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Wagner vom Berg and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Arens and with the collaboration of Dipl.-Ing. Uta Kühne.

Online seminar provides space for questions and discussion

On Thursday, 20 July 2023 from 3 to 4.30 p.m., NOW GmbH and the Smart Mobility Institute invite you to an online seminar on the study "Climate-friendly cooling systems for road freight transport". During the seminar, interested parties will have the opportunity to discuss the results in detail with the authors of the study.
