Student documentary "Männer" celebrates cinema premiere in Bremerhaven

University

Presentation followed by discussion on Tuesday 23 May at 3 p.m.

What makes a man? How does he see himself - and how would he like to be seen by others? A student film team from the Digital Media Production programme (DMP) at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences under the direction of Prof. Dr. Holger Rada took an in-depth look at these questions. After several participations in international festivals, the film "Männer" (Men) will celebrate its cinema premiere in Bremerhaven on Tuesday, 23 May. At 3 pm, those interested can attend the screening at Cinemotion Bremerhaven (Karlsburg 1, Bremerhaven) free of charge. The number of seats is limited. It is not possible to reserve a seat in advance.

The film tells the stories of five young people who interpret their manhood in very different ways. The students were able to convince the juries of several film festivals with their work: the film has been shown in Romania, Italy, Sweden, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Germany and the Ukraine. The film team has also been accepted for the 10th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra in Greece, which will take place in August 2023 on Crete. The film will be shown for the first time outside a festival at Cinemotion Bremerhaven. After the screening, the film team will be available for questions. The cinema premiere will take place as part of Diversity Day 2023.
