Student company neuraflow wins the Smart Country Startup Award 2024
Award for most innovative idea in the GovTech category
This year's Smart Country Startup Award in the GovTech category goes to the Bremerhaven-based company neuraflow GmbH. Founders Dustin Klepper and Pascal Nobereit, who are studying Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Leadership at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, were honoured for their innovative idea of using artificial intelligence to drive digitalisation in the public sector. In addition to the prize money of 5,000 euros, their company will also receive free membership of the digital association Bitcom.
‘This award is an incredible incentive for us to continue driving forward the digital transformation of German administrations. The Smart Country Convention was a great opportunity to present our vision for a modern and citizen-centred administration. We are proud that our work was recognised in the GovTech category. We don't just talk, we do! And it is precisely this attitude that we want to carry forward,’ says Dustin Klepper.
The student company neuraflow started with the idea that artificial intelligence offers a great opportunity for the digitalisation of public administration. For example, a chatbot can answer citizens' questions and prevent them from having to call the citizen service centre. This would relieve the burden on staff and prevent long waiting times in telephone loops. The founders have already been able to convince several cities of their idea, including Bonn, Siegburg and Freiburg. The chatbot ‘Hein Mück’ also went online in Bremerhaven this summer. The fact that the company has developed into a promising service provider within a short space of time has not only impressed the jury of the Smart Country Startup Award. The company was recently honoured with the ‘Motor of the North’ innovation award from the Powerhouse North regional alliance. Further information about the company can be found online at www.neuraflow.de.
The Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership degree programme teaches methods, models, skills, abilities, attitudes and practical experience for designing, planning, realising and managing challenging, innovative projects in a team. The learning environment is a real company that is jointly owned, developed and operated by all students. They learn how to manage themselves, lead projects and teams, develop innovative business ideas, build customer relationships and, if they wish, set up their own company.
The application phase for the summer semester 2025 is currently underway and the Foundation, Innovation, Leadership degree programme is also accepting new students. The application deadline is 15 February 2025. Further information on the course can be found at www.hs-bremerhaven.de/Entrepreneurship-Innovation-Leadership.
