Discovering Bremerhaven's Goethe Quarter
Students develop interactive scavenger hunt for young and old
If you are looking for an idea for a family outing that is both fun and educational, you can now go on a special discovery tour. Four students from the International Tourism Management (ITM) programme at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences have teamed up with the Lehe district office to develop a scavenger hunt as part of the ‘Citizenship Competencies’ module, allowing people of all ages to explore the Goethe Quarter in a playful way. Along the way, participants can expect exciting puzzles, interesting facts about the Goethe Quarter and creative hands-on activities. Printed copies are available free of charge at the Quartiersmeisterei Lehe (Goethestraße 44a). All information and downloads of the digital version can be found at https://www.quartiersmeisterei-lehe.de/goethequartier-rallye/.
The scavenger hunt starts at the ‘Ernst-Reuter-Platz’ bus stop. From there, the route leads through the Goethe Quarter in Bremerhaven Lehe, where there is plenty to discover. To ensure that the whole family can enjoy the outing, the tasks are offered in two levels of difficulty. The scavenger hunt takes around 60 to 90 minutes. The scavenger hunt is currently available in German. However, work is underway to offer it in other languages in the future so that even more people can take part.
